Ruby is accented with a hint of black details on her ears, paws, and tail, adding an air of sophistication to her spirited nature.

Yet it's Ruby's ensemble that commands attention—a fashionable light blue satin ribbon collar with complimentary round sequin dangles that shows off her true feline fashionista as a force of nature. Ruby knows how to dominate the spotlight! As your eyes glide over the sculpture, you'll encounter two compelling black handprint patterns on her rear. These two bold elements infuse the piece with mystery, inviting the viewer to explore its empowering themes.

Ruby's special nature is further enhanced by the innovative crafting process that brings her to life. Her form is elegantly shaped by a carefully designed armature and layers of carefully selected papers from a book on women's resistance. A delicate white patina reveals words from this book, adding a subtle yet impactful narrative to her form, all gently held together with rice glue. The statue is then varnished with a satin archival varnish for durability and longevity. She is signed by the artist, along with her name and the collection's name on her underside.

STORY BEHIND THIS SERIES:
I am an artist. When the words of men try to cage us, I shape defiance with my own hands. My series of four cat sculptures, Hands Off My Puss, stand fierce and unyielding — each feline shaped with the spirit they fear most. The first, "Lola", arches her back, claws ready to strike. The second, "Ruby", sits tall, eyes sharp, daring anyone to try to tame her. The third, "Priss", crouches low, waiting — patient, but never powerless. The last, "Ruby", raises her head, mouth open mid-roar, reminding the world that even small creatures have voices that will not be silenced. Each cat wears a collar, accentuating her femininity — a glittering rebellion in a world that seeks to shame what it cannot control. The colors and jewels shimmer like hidden fire, daring anyone to mistake beauty for weakness.
