"Cliffs of Moher”, (Aillte an Mhothair), this scene of the Irish countryside meadows against the coastline sea cliffs are located at the edge of the Burren region in County Clare, Ireland. After hiking the cliff trails and admiring the water below, the sky, and the clouds above the horizon, I was overtaken by the juxtaposition of the rugged cliffs against the softness of the meadows. Thoughts of my Grandmother, whose roots trace back to Ireland, overtook my mind and became the inspiration for this large abstract series. “There were days, with Heaven so low, I was sure I could reach up and poke a hole in it and hold her hand again.”

The palette includes a selection of greens, greys, yellow, light blues, and touches of random markings and embellishments using pastel highlights.

The technique used in this large landscape involves drips, layers, and marks using a muted palette of acrylics and a layering of purposeful pastel marks to highlight the meadow and cliffs from the Irish Coasline. My paints and embellishments are of the highest archival quality to ensure the longevity of this work of art for years to come. The techniques used in this series incorporate a method of under layering and dripping of the palette to provide a sense of veiled wonderment.

Each creation that I present to the world is a labor of love with a unique story that evolved with many studio hours and underlayers of paint. Building it, shaping it, and embellishing it with a variety of mediums.
